Storing Your Medical Information

November 15th, 2014

I hope you are successfully dodging the dreaded Fall flu and cold season. It’s a tricky time of year to stay healthy, but the good news is I’m making it easy to keep your medical information organized this month.

In our last Blog Post we talked about having a single file for your medical documents. If you feel more comfortable and successful using a binder, let’s use a binder instead! Flexibility in organization is key.

binders for medical records

Depending on the amount of documents and information, I would suggest a different coloured binder for each family member, and to create the following sections within each binder:

o   Medical Contacts & Family History

o   Medications and Conditions

o   Medical History Overview

o   Immunizations, Labs & Exams

o   Dental Procedures

o   Medical Directives

Once you have your binders organized you will feel so secure knowing everyone’s medical history is accessible and up-to-date.
